They help to keep the engine running smoothly, while also providing the power required to get your quad bike or UTV up and running. The flywheel stator is a round, heavy metal disk that sits between the engine and the transmission. Its main purpose as a magneto stator is to help the engine start-up quickly by providing a consistent rotational force. This is done by storing rotational kinetic energy, which is released when the engine start sequence initiates. Its mass helps absorb any sudden changes in the engine’s speed, helping to reduce wear and tear on the components. It’s also responsible for helping the engine maintain its speed when the throttle is released.
